At Ashbrow Cottage in Westgate Weardale, the ground floor comprises of a good size comfortable lounge and a well equipped kitchen. Books and board games are provided in the lounge. The kitchen is fitted out with modern units and facilities, whilst retaining its traditional feel. It incorporates a fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble drier, cooker and microwave. Guests are invited to take fresh herbs from the owner’s garden when preparing their meals. The upstairs comfortably sleeps five people. It comprises of two double bedrooms and a single room. The bedrooms also have views of the countryside. There is a luxury family shower room . Each bedroom is furnished to provide storage. Bed linen and towels are provided. The cottage itself is set in a quiet country lane with beautiful walks on the doorstep. The absence of street lighting gives fantastic night time skies, with clear views of the stars. It is an area very popular with walkers, cyclists and geologists. The many attractions of the North East of England and Cumbria are easily accessible. Durham City 40 mins, Newcastle 60 mins, Beamish Museum 45 mins, Roman Wall 40 mins. Penrith, one of the gateways to the Lake District is under one hours drive through the beautiful North Pennines. Other attractions include Killhope Wheel Museum, Bowes Museum, The Weardale Museum, High Force, Cows Green Reservoir and Hall Hill Farm.
